Frequently Asked Questions
Why flat straps rather than rope or slats?
Surface area. A wide strap spreads contact across the body instead of concentrating it along a narrow cord, so there is no ribbed feel through a towel and no need for a full cushion. The open basket weave still drains and dries as fast as rope. Straps are also tensioned individually, which means a single damaged strap is rewoven in place rather than the whole panel being replaced — a real difference over a ten-year service life on a busy deck.
Does the cantilever base stay stable, and will it mark decking?
Yes. The loop distributes load along a curve rather than through four points, so ground pressure stays low and the lounger will not sink or tip on timber decking, lawn or sand. There are no metal glides to corrode near chlorinated water, and nothing hard enough to dent decking boards. Can strap colour and weave pattern be specified?
Both. Strap colour is selected from our standard range or matched to your specification, and the weave pattern can be changed — the basket weave shown is one of several we produce. Frame finish is specified independently, so a light strap on a bronze frame reads very differently from a monochrome combination. Pattern and colour changes carry no MOQ increase; a fully custom weave requires a sample approval round and adds around [7-10] days to lead time.
