Is the backrest fixed, and why?
Fixed. The contour is set once — a curve at the shoulders, a drop at the knees — and the cord is tensioned continuously across it, which is what allows the weave to hold shape without a mechanism underneath. There are no hinges, pins or struts to corrode, seize or need resetting by staff, and nothing for guests to pinch. If your specification calls for recline, our adjustable ranges cover that; this piece is for properties choosing a permanent silhouette across a deck.
How is the colour achieved, and will it fade?
Frame and cord are specified to the same tone: the frame is powder-coated and the cord is solution-dyed, so colour runs through the fibre rather than sitting on the surface. Some softening is normal over years of direct sun and it affects both elements at a similar rate, which is why tone-on-tone holds up better visually than a matched cushion that fades at a different speed. Any RAL colour is available; the shade shown is one option.
Can a damaged section of cord be repaired?
Yes. Cord is wound in sections rather than as one continuous run, so a damaged area is rewound in place without dismantling the deck or returning the frame. We supply spare cord matched to your order colour, and for larger orders we include enough to cover several repairs. Because the cord is dyed rather than coated, a replacement section matches the original instead of standing out as a repair.
